Controller input is messed up, no apparent way to fix it on my end

Even going into the keybindings, using an Xbox One controller (not off-brand, and nothing wrong with the controller), all the controls are mixed up (holding down on the left thumbstick moves me to the right, for example). Resetting to default doesn't help, and trying to change things isn't working because everything is being read incorrectly (LB is being called Start when I try using that button to remap things, as an example). Tried enabling Steam Input as well, but that didn't improve anything. This is the only game that has this issue, everything else is fine.

As is, I can't play the game at all, let alone with friends. Please fix this issue.

Try using the Steam Controller input. This should fix the problem.

Turning on Steam Input should resolve your issue. When I had it turned off, I was having similar issues as to what you described in your post.

Already tried that, said as much . It was off by default, and changed nothing when I turned it on.

If on Steam Deck make sure you have experimental proton disabled just use the default proton.

Just went to check, because I remember there being 3 listed (only the Keyboard worked right, but it's not preferred for this game), those being Keyboard, Unknown Device, and X-Input Device (already weird, but a full restart of the game, and reinstall, didn't help). The issue has somehow fixed itself, and now works properly, only showing the Keyboard and my Xbox controller.

If Steam Input is active, you will only see the Steam Virtual Controller in this list. This will solve the problem.

I posted in another discussion, but I'll provide my workaround here in case it can help. I bound my DualSense as keyboard bound. L3 is accept in menu and R3 is back button. Right analog will navigate the menu as arrow keys. Tab is the select button. If you don't have a DS, feel free to take a picture of my keybinds and adapt them to your controller.

If this still doesn't work, you may need to hunt down inputconfigs.dat in documents/mygames/(Isaac Version), back it up somewhere in case of a mistake, and remove the part of the script with potential false binds, but only do that if simply using the workaround config still gives weird inputs.
