Controller doesn't work with Repentance+

It was working fine before I downloaded Rep+ but now all the controls are messed up to the point it's completely unplayable. Left bumper is the start menu, Joystick up is down, Joystick left is bombs, Joystick up is shoot left, and Joystick right moves the menu cursor up. B moves the menu cursor down, Y/A/X don't seem to do anything so I'm guessing those are now active/pills/etc.

I can't even change the controls in the menu using the controller because when I try to press any button in order to change it, it just moves the cursor around. I've tried every single button in the menu and nothing lets me change it.

Is this a known issue? If so, how do I get my controller to work again? I never had any issues in the past and I simply plugged it in and it worked flawlessly (still works for other games).

Ive figured out a workaround, Right click the game in your library. Manage controller Layout and use a community layout. I used two different layouts and it worked fine. Seems to be something wrong with the default layout on steam.

Doesn't work for me, tried several different community layouts and I get the same problem on all of them: As soon as I make any input on the controller the game just constantly inputs left and button inputs don't do anything. This is with a DS5. Worked fine before most recent update.

I tried using DS4Windows (which is basically essential for using a DS5 on pc) to make the controller emulate as an Xbox controller instead, but again, the same thing happens.

dude i have the same problem, i have a nitendo hori pad and ive tried changing the inputs and how the controller is recognized and i found the problem, unfortunately its the update, so the online gameplay can be smooth, they had to work for their controller inputs for the game(its not the steam interface fault, ). the game was better when my controller wasnt recognized because it worked witht he input i put myself or the default data the pc reads frmo the controller. unfortunately only the devs can work it out i am not familiar with tboi program language and dont know how to work with it...

I fixed it. I tried House_Fly's suggestion above and it didn't work, but what did work was going into the properties, then controller, and then enabling Steam Input. For some reason, after I enabled Steam Input, my controller started working again without issue.

Hopefully this also works for other people experiencing the same issue.

I appreciate the link. I already fixed my issue so hopefully this will work if others are still having problems.
