Save File Gone and No Way to Progress

Launched repentance plus today only to find that my save files was completely gone. Figured id just do the steam achievement sync trick but i cant access the secrets menu until unlocking something first. The problem is that every time I start up a run it shows the no achievements icon under the stats that you get when playing with mods before beating mom even though mine are disabled. I even unsubscribed from everything on the workshop but they all still appear in my mods list. Any idea how to fix this? If there's nothing I can do I'd basically have no choice but to say goodbye to one of my favorite games for good.

You don't need the Secrets menu, you can use Alt+F2 from the Stats menu as well. It won't bring back completion marks, you'll need to go into the game files and pull out one of the backups if you want to revert that. This guide covers it.

I have no idea about the mods though, disabling them through the in-game menu should be enough to re-enable unlocks. Is it possible that you have the console enabled? It does the same thing.

I tried alt f2 on every other part of the stats menu and it did nothing. I also tried following this guide already and it didnt work for me.

just tried multiple methods from that thread, didnt work for me sadly

You have to completely uninstall mods if you want your progress on a new save to go through, it's bugged.

Having any mod or the debug console enabled if the Womb isn't unlocked on the save prevents all unlocks. It isn't a bug.

OP, make sure the debug console is disabled as well, not just mods.
Check here how to enable the debug console, just put it at 0 instead of 1 to disable it:

well that fixed not being able to get unlocks! i dont know how the debug console got flagged as enabled, ive literally never used it.
i have access to the secrets page now but alt f2 still isnt doing anything. is there some other prerequisite for syncing your file with steam achievements or has this feature been changed/removed in repentance plus?

No, the feature is still in the game and I'm still able to use it on a fresh file. It should just work as long as you still have your steam achievements. All I can really say is to try it again.
Make sure you're pressing both Alt and F2 at the same time while in the Stats menu. If you have a computer with the Fn key, you need to be holding that before you start pressing F2 in order for it to count as pressed.
You'll know if it works because the mom kills, etc. will increase the moment you do it.

still not working, tried with both alt keys and with and without Fn. pressing f2 while holding Fn on this keyboard lowers the volume so i know Fn is being registered cause the game gets quieter
