Please don't play online with randoms if you're new to the game...
Save the experimenting and game losing plays for single player. And if you do want to play online... don't do anything yourself if you don't know what it does or how to do it optimally.

People when new players do new player things: :csd2angry:

That's part of the deal when you decide to play a co-op mode with random players, on any game.
Either accept it or stick to "friends only" lobbies.

This is why good games die. Just shoo off anyone who has a potential to revive or bring life to the community because they suck when that's the basis of being new.

To be honestly, they need to make the game more transparent to make it easier for new players to understand it. I definitely think starting with item descriptions that aren't memes would help. Like, I sure do love having a D6 and then seeing my items randomly shift between my mother's ♥♥♥♥♥ shaver, one of the several dozens of eyeballs they have, and a random undead baby minion with no name until you pick the item up. Like, how do you expect multiplayer to have people who want to learn the game when you arbitrarily hide what these weird things are AND a community that shoos them?

There are mods for item descriptions, but I get what you mean.

A large part of the original game was just trolling the player, and while that may not hold as much water with a bigger community it still has it's place to keep the game light and encourage experimentation rather than devolve into what a majority of the player base does and hold R til they get an item room they like.

Here's your obligatory clown. If you want to have clean runs, find some friends to set it up with, rather than expecting randoms to play to your standards. It isn't so serious. Calling anything a "game losing play" already makes you sound like you're being unreasonable, because even if you're right about that one specific scenario, it's entirely a mindset thing. It sounds entirely like something you could fix yourself by being more proactive in text chat, rather than just assuming that your teammates know what you're doing. Personally, the people I've played with so far have been pretty respectful. And the way I see it, if they're really just toxic, then I consider it a ruined run from the get-go because they're going to starve everyone else out of decent items until they skill issue. At that point I think it's just best to have what fun you can with the run rather than let it bother you.

One of the funniest online runs I've had so far was where I picked up bob's brain + bomberman and basically couldn't shoot in boss rooms without blowing up my teammates who were both playing as the lost. Finding spots where I could land it without them getting caught in the blast is probably the most fun I've had with the game in the past few months.

I was actually in the middle of typing when it happened, so thanks for the free steam points

I agree with you, for all the wrong reasons. I say don't play if you are fresh because you are risking accidentally unlocking everything by having your save file rewritten with the dead god/progressed players save.
