Controller controls all scrambled

Since the update my controller controlls are all scrambled. I tried to enable steam input for controller settings like it was frequently suggested here but it doesnt work at all. I also tried to activate and reactivate the dlc, while having steam input for controller enabled and disabled. Nothing seems to work.

While the dlc is activated the game creates an unknown device with scrambled inputs that overwrites every other controller setting - XInput settings and Steam Virtual Gamepad are shown but the controls do not apply for the controller.

Ive also tried the suggested fix where i disconnect the controller ingame and connect it again - which also doesnt work.
Ive also tried to start a run with the controller disconnected and connect it while ingame but it also doesnt work.

When im ingame i can get a local 2nd character added by pressing start who uses the correct inputs so it looks like the game creates a second set of inputs for Player 1 and uses the XInput Controller and Steam Virtual Gamepad for potential Player 2.

Also when i try to reconfigure the inputs inside the unknown device settings some buttons dont work at all or are labled 'unknown input' - they work just fine when the dlc is not activated.

I also tryed to change the 'inputconfigs.dat' to read-only while the unknown device section is deleted - it still gets overwritten, the same as the copied 'inputconfigs.dat' without the unknown device section from the Repentance folder.

I use a cable bound nacon ps4 controller.

Try to properties, controller and enable steam input. That should fix until they fix it.

My bad. Kinda weird situation because having enable steam input should work because i have a nacon controller too that worked fine before repentance+ and i needen to do that and then in-game change some key-map.

I use a Switch controller and I'm having the same issue. Ingame the shooting controls on the face buttons seems to be treated like it's using the Xbox layout instead.

I'm using a Playstation controller and it's really hard to understand what's going on. On the menu some buttons work but don't have the same outputs as normal. When I start a run it seems like none of the inputs works, sometimes it recognises the gamepad as a second player. I've tried all of the above but nothing works for me either. I think we just have to wait for an update cause it seems like a bug more than a gamepad connectivity issue.

yeah - mine too - xbox one controller - all f*cky. there is a second controller listed in my controller selection - shows keyboard, "unknown" and xinput not sure what that middle one is

Have you tried remapping your controller in game?

also try running ds4windows with your controller connected and run the game, I used to have to run that program to get my PS5 controller to work with isaac.

Ive tried to remap the controller ingame as mentioned. But i didnt try using ds4windows again, i completely forgot this existed and just remember i had to run it back in the day when i was using a ps4 controller.

Same on a Xbox Series controller as well, the game is basically unplayable.

Also I don't get it, it was said this mode was the Online Coop releasing.. But it's just the Beta? The thing that's been in testing for eons now, you would think the impression pre-release was that the fully fledged and tested/public-ready version was releasing..

How was anyone playing the beta's prior and not mentioning the utterly unoptimized disaster this is?
