Description of items ingame
I have not bought repentance DLC yet. I remember years ago playing the game that I have to open a webpage to see what each item do. Has the game included the option to show description for what each item does ingame? Or do you guys still have to check what the items do before picking them up to avoid screwing up a run? Thanks

If you have all the dlcs you can use mods to tell you the item descriptions in game, but its not vanilla yet

Assuming it will ever be, which hasn't been confirmed as far as I know.

I would strongly recommend installing https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=836319872

The game is basically unplayable as a new player without it, very sad!

Obligatory reminder: enabling any mod before unlocking the Womb on that save (first Mom kill, in-game secret number 4) prevents all unlocks.

Thanks.

I’ve played the game long ago but never bought repentance.
It is surprising and disappointing that they don’t add in item description ingame. Previously I had to look at the item appearance and try find the same looking item on the website to see what it does, and it really breaks the rhythm of the game. I generally try avoid using mods but it seems like if I do play, that they are necessary.

There is an old version of External Item Descriptions for Rebirth only, scroll down that page for the link:

you have tboi.com which is the new version of platinumgod.co.uk (which is the website you're talking about).

In the Workshop though, you can find a mod called "External Item Descriptions" which does what you want.

I vaguely remember a similar statement on his Twi X, but a "probably" isn't a "yes".

Ur original statement made it seem like it wasn't talked about at all

How is "hasn't been confirmed" the same as "wasn't talked about at all"?
Also Ed said a lot over the time, much of it never happened.
