Tips for the Keeper?

All I have left for this game is the Keeper (well, and picking up every item in the game, which I've gotten all that i've unlocked) for every unlock except Greed Mode, any tips?

My only somewhat successful run was I had Number One + Crickets Head + Stopwatch + some Tears Up, then I felt ballsy and went for Boss Rush. I didn't have good speed or flight so Forsaken triple Brimstoned me.

I know Swallowed Penny for near infinite health, but what else? Does IV Bag + Isaac's Heart work for him?

It would work (Isaac's Heart + IV Bag), but the downside would be, that you're stuck with Isaac's Heart, which wouldn't be too bad if you could get hit more than once.

Take every opportunity to open up golden chests and blow up every shopkeeper to give youself a decent chance of finding "Head of the Keeper" (tears can generate coins when hitting an enemy).

The Keeper's maximum heart(coin)-containers can't go past 2, but HP-Ups still work, if you have only 1 container, so you can take 1-heart devil deals almost everytime.

The Strength-Card is super valuable for the Keeper, if you see one, hold onto it, because unlike for other characters, the HP-Up provided by that card is permanent for the Keeper, so it can be used for a free 1-heart devil item.

You can even steal 2-heart deals with it, if a Strength-card is used right after picking up the devil item, though, it will leave you with only 1 heart/coin container.

Hive-Mind would also be an item, that you should look out for, since you're going to generate quite a few blue flies naturally.

Other than that, avoid Curse-Rooms, unless they are adjacent to a secret room or if you got Holy Mantle and embrace the Keeper's gimmick - leave some coins on the ground as emergency heal and go for every item, that can generate coins. Unlocking "Keeper holds Wooden Nickel"/Beat Isaac as the Keeper, should be your top-priority for now, because Wooden Nickel makes the life as the Keeper alot easier.

But with IV Bag + Heart, couldn't you just spam money in a room making yourself able to heal any damage you'd take?

I swear I never see Head of Keeper when i'm the Keeper haha. I do stay on the lookout.

I know the Strength Card stuff as well, but didn't know you could steal the 2 heart deals.

And yes avoiding curse rooms does seem smart, I have been avoiding them.

I also know Keeper can break the tear rate cap with triple shot since for some reason the triple shot he starts with doesn't reduce the tear cap like it should or something like that, which is why tear rate ups are fantastic for him, like number one.

I assume once you unlock Kepper holds Wooden Nickle, the game gets a little bit easier?

Yes, you just have to beat at least Isaac and Keeper starts with one of the best possible usables for him. From that point, battery-related items from the shop become extra valuable, especially Car Battery and 9Volt.

I'm pretty sure, that you'll never leave the Wooden Nickel behind, unless you get something like Tammy's Head/Brimstone or a D4/D100.

Another thing: Triple shot's still in the item pool. Technically, the Keeper doesn't have the item "Inner Eye", so even if you end up re-rolling yourself, you'll always keep the triple-shot.

Ah I didn't know he kept triple and that triple is still in the pool, that's pretty cool.

And yea, but for until then IV + Heart may be an okay combo? What if you had splash penny + piggy bank + IV, would you be almost guarunteed to get 2 coins? I know some of the items are changed for him like Piggy drops less.

If you find a blank card just take it immediatly !! Then buy all the cards you want until you have 2 of diamonds you can multiply your gold at the infinite of you get some batteries !! :D

koup that'd work for Greed Mode (well and the regular game, but you'd have to be lucky with getting restock, blank card, decent money, and 2 of diamonds all in one run) but I already beat Greed Mode.

The IV Bag/Isaac's Heart combo is entirely up to you and your skill to use or not. Getting hit twice in quick succession is really easy with Isaac's Heart, especially if you picked up another familiar. Isaac's Heart often "sticks" to some familiars.

If i'd take it, i'd look out for the "Blind Rage" trinket as well, if you couldn't find Swallowed Penny. Blind Rage increases your invinciblity frames after getting hit, so it should give you enough time to go and pick up a coin or more opportunities to use IV-Bag while invincible, if you haven't gotten Isaac's Heart.

Also, while Piggy Bank only has a chance to trigger for the Keeper, Swallowed Penny always triggers as usual, so Swallowed Penny usually is enough to warrant a more or less easy victory.

you can't use iv bag and isaac's heart for infinite coins, it still hurts you.
and you can't use iv bag for free coins while invincible, it still hurts you.
isaac's heart allows you to use the blood machine as much as you want and you can use blind rage to get 2 blood donations for the price of 1 but it does not work with the iv bag.

It hurts you as the Keeper? That seems rather odd. I see why that's the case, as infinite coins like that would be broken. And I know the IV Bag doesn't work in invincibility, only the machine itself.

Be on the look out for Sacrifice Rooms when you are holding the Swallowed Penny. This was my go to trick to make inifinite sacrifices and fight both angels - such an easy way to get both key pieces and fight Mega Satan.

it hurts you as anyone...you can't just spam iv bag as fast as you can to get more coins, it hurts you even if you have i frames.

unless are you referring to iv bag + isaac's heart?
I could have sworn I tried that and I still got hurt, but maybe I need to check again.

FeMaiden with Isaac's Heart it does not hurt you.

And Abramax that's a good idea that I had forgotten. My friend was playing on my game, and had gotten Fire Mind from Eden's Blessing, and Pyromaniac from the treasure room next to him, then immediately died from 2 spiders after using the sacrifice room to get the key pieces.

The IV Bag + Heart does not hurt and gives you coins, I did it to break Greed Mode when it first came out.

Yeah i've just checked and it indeed doesn't work during i-frames.
My bad. I'm so used to think of IV-Bag the same way i think of regular blood-donation machines.
