Also avoid picking up Chaos, you'll end up running into Breakfast more often if you do. I had a Blank card + jera greed run, while looking for the Glowing hourglass so I could loop Ultra Greed. I accidentally picked up Chaos and ended up buying breakfast about 200+ times before the glowing hourglass finaly showed up.
Alternatively Blank card + 2 of diamonds aslo works wonders for breaking greed mode. The Car Battery will allow you to go from 25 cents to 99 cents with a single use.
An item that really helped me on my Ultra Greed kill with the Lost was Glass Cannon, that together with Deaths Touch, Chocolate Milk and 9 Lives carried my run. If you start charging Chocolate Milk when Ultra Greed uses his "slot machine with the eyes" thing and then use Glass Cannon in the right moment, it clears the room of coins immediately. All in all Greed Mode with the Lost isn't easy, but easier then Boss Rush, Hush or Mega Satan.
That is also an important tipp!
If you lose your Holy Mantle charge, you can stop the waves, leave the room and come back to refresh Holy Mantle
>press&stop each wave
>if holy mantle goes off enter some room and exit again
>get some good devil deals
>profit
I think I did it on my first attempt with Holy Mantle, waay easier than most of his other stuff.
Cube of Meats are everywhere in Greed Mode.
Chaos actually helped me last time because I could buy all of Guppy items in the shop easily!
I know that. Getting to Ultra Greed is very doable for me. I can get there easily with whatever start. But last time I got there I had 9 lives and I didn't kill him. Coins are too random and they often fall on you... and those hopping greed heads are awful too. Damage capped against him is horrible, I can't take JUST ONE HIT in that fight, it's nearly impossible.
So the thing is: when you are restarting, what items do you hope for? When do you start the run? What items make you say "this can guarantee a victory". I can't just make it to Ultra Greed everytime and just die there, because it's half an hour wasted.
And this is why Gnawed Leaf is probably the best item (aside from Dead Cat) you could pick up as The Lost in Greed Mode.
Ultra Greed turns more and more red depending on how low his HP is, gets more aggressive and likes to charge at you. If you're standing still with Gnawed Leaf at the bottom of the screen, he'll never stop charging at you and your orbital (like Cube of Meat, VERY common in Greed Mode) can finish him off pretty quickly.
Yeah it's probably the safest strat. I'll restart til it appears then. It's never showed up for me though. I'll be like 30 mins restarting haha.
That's actually if he has the chance to heal from his heart coins. If you manage to destroy every heart coin you can keep him in his calm state the whole fight, but since they activate faster than key/bomb coins it's not as easy to do.
Additionally, the Lost can press the spiky button to stop the waves without taking damage.
I also beat Hush and Mega Satan with Tech X in the same run haha. Tech X needs to be nerfed man (but wait til I get 1001%).
Again that doesn't guarantee a victory. Capped damage means you have to endure the fight some time and it doesn't depend on how OP you are imo... I think defensive strats are better and in fact I'll wait for the Gnawed Leaf haha. I'm trying now, wish me luck.
