Breakfasting the game doesn't automatically mean, that you've exhausted every item pool, it just means, that you've exhausted that particular item pool.
Chaos, for example, doesn't mix items into pools, where they don't belong, it just causes item pools themselves to appear where they usually shouldn't.
That's why you often see 2 Guppy items in the shop. It's not luck, the shop item pool just has been replaced with the red chest pool for that moment.
Now, if you have Restock and buy all the red chest items from that shop, you'll get breakfasted pretty fast, since the red chest pool is quite small.
Edit: Brimstone is appearently not in the Greed Mode item pool. I don't really understand why it isn't.
The wiki doesn't list this item and people, who've looked into the gamefiles also confirm this.
I would imagine that the difference between Glowing Hourglass cheese and IV Bag cheese is the difficulty in finding the correct items to pull the combo off and then properly executing the combo. IV Bag was a realitively easy item to find and let you immediatly abuse in the room you got it. Glowing Hourglass is comparitively more difficult to find, requires you to sacrifice your active item slot AND fight the final boss again and again.
I don't think they mind exploits as long as those exploits require more than a single item and can be abused the second you get the item.
I can somehow see it being exploitable for donation machines, but even that isn't as good as simply picking up Steam Sale, as the machine will eventually break and you can't use IV-Bag and Breath of Life at the same time.
Makes even less sense with the removal of those donation machines.
Yeah, i know, you can step on the button for free, but i can't see how that is OP or cheap in any way. You'd still get the money penalty.
Youre just not lucky enough to get it.
