How do I buy this game?

The bundle is $50 USD. Is all of the items in the bundle needed? It seems rather expensive overall, I know the game has a lot of content. But I bought it years ago on Switch, I do not remember how much it costs, but I definitely wouldn't have purchased it for $50. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it's actually confusing to understand what I am buying here

Rebirth Complete Bundle includes the base game and all DLCs. And it's the only way to purchase the latest content.

It's worth mentioning that it's a "Complete the set" bundle. Meaning if you have some items from this bundle purchased, Steam will automatically adjust its price.
So you can buy the base game now, and all DLCs later at a reduced price.

The wording on the steam page for repentance is extremely poor :/ it says it contains all the content of AB AND AB+, also doesn't mention that you need those two at all. It makes it seem like rebirth and repentance are all you need. This is the case on switch, I only purchased twice. Unless the switch version is rebirth and ab/ab+ ...

This is needlessly confusing

you need ALL dlc.

they all depend on each other. afterbirth needs rebirth, ab+ needs ab, repentence needs ab+.

theres really nothing confusing about it. buy all of the dlc or buy none of it

Switch release contains content for Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth Plus. Repentance is available as DLC.

I see what you mean. Then again, you can buy Repentance only as a part of Rebirth Complete Bundle, you can't buy it separately.
In the past Nicalis tried to sell Afterbirth Plus separately. Then some consumers complained that the game didn't work properly, because AB+ is dependant on AB content and they didn't purchase it. So Nicalis locked Afterbirth Plus and Repentance behind their respective bundles.

View the bundle details on the steam site page, the blurb on repentance says that it contains all ab/ab+ content

I just checked, it doesn't show up on mobile, but does in PC. Also steam store page only says you need rebirth to play repentance. That note is the purple box that appears on all dlc, doesn't mention ab/ab+

Because Rebirth is the base game, and Steam seems to have trouble with the concept of "expansion for expansion", which is what Repentance is when you think about it (as unusual as it is). Rebirth is the base game, Afterbirth is an expansion for Rebirth, Afterbirth+ is an expansion for Afterbirth, and Repentance is an expansion for Afterbirth+.

Confusing? Definitely, yes. But still, the answer won't change: Repentance requires both Afterbirth and Afterbirth+ to run, and you can't buy Repentance alone because it doesn't inlcude AB/AB+ content by itself, meaning they both must be bought as well to run Repentance (on top of the base game Rebirth of course). That's not up to debate, it's a fact.

(But I'm sure it was perfectly clear for everyone here at that point.)
