Game not successfully launching

I've played BoI for many years now and never had this problem, but recently after getting a new computer (Acer Nitro 5) I haven't been able to launch the game. I removed all of the workshop mods, verified the game files, uninstalled/reinstalled the game, and restarted my computer; nada. My firewall says that the game is allowed, and other games boot up fine.

The game starts to open when it is launched, but only shows a black screen. After a few seconds, it crashes. When I first tried to launch it it looked like there was a mod issue as it let me into the game but struggled with the intro cutscene and wouldn't show anything but "press tab to view daily challenge" which, in fact, did not show the daily challenge.

I'm at a loss and want to play my favorite game again T_T any help is appreciated!

Update: I was able to fix it!

It took going to C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance and (after making a backup) deleting all of the files present.

Note: BEFORE DOING THIS check the "options.ini" file in this folder to ensure "Steamcloud=1", which indicates that the game is using the save on the Steam cloud and not in this folder.

I also deleted the remnants of all of the mods that were in the Binding of Isaac mods folder, since I had unsubscribed but not all of the files were removed.
