The Keeper is really tough

Seriously, I had an easier time with The Lost. Most of my runs end before reaching mom, and getting past her is usually even worse because then I just get to watch myself die RIGHT before winning. I only have two more bosses to defeat as him, but getting there is complete hell.

How are you guys doing with him? I'm taking a break to cool off, I just died right outside of The Lamb's door

I honestly cheated with him (found Holy Mantle twice, when it gets hit, I go to main menu, it will restart the room, as the Lost I did not)
However, I did Satan and The Lamb with him legit (had 20/20 and Tech X) and boss rush twice.

Go for Isaac first. Having the Wooden Nickel to start is a big help.

But he is a pretty garbage character.

today, after about 3-5 days of playing him in a row, i finally passed sheol, dark room, and megasatan in a row.
And the things i wanna say : Flight is essential, pyromaniac is veeery important, and try find some high AS/DMG balance + good healing potential (like swallowed penny / ipecac + pyromaniac or lot of bombs.
Dont get risky, dont eat unknown pills until you find PHD, it's not worth it, never.
Try to hold ''strength'' card for devil deals, it works like magic even if you got 0 health after picking devil deal, just mash ''strength'' card and you will have permanent 1 hp bar.
Probably there more, but it's all i learned while playing keeper.
Just DONT play with luck while playing keeper, high % it would not repay and you will be angry very much.

I once had Tech X and Mutant Spider as Keeper. 7 rings of death. Best run ever, I only wish I had saved the seed.

All of my successful runs had it I'm pretty sure, but sometimes the damage invincibility doesn't last long enough for me to grab the fallen coin. Especially in the womb. Those damn eyeballs that rapid fire brimstone lasers

Did finally beat The Lamb last night though. Only Mega Satan is left now

Stop Watch, Holy Mantle, and Dead Cat seem almost necessary.

I beat The Lamb with a nice ipecac+proptosis combo. At first I was worried the splash damage from my tears would be what offed me but it actually worked out very nicely; just a handful of flies could finish most bosses

Guess you can't go wrong with high damage

Finished tha last completion marks six days ago (Boss Rush and Mega Satan). I had been struggling with The Keeper for a while and then suddenly had two fantastic runs in a row.

On the first run I got Ipecac + Tech X + Infestation 2 and managed to beat Boss Rush. The spiders did so much damage that they killed the bosses the moment they spawned. I was unlucky with the Angel Rooms though and didn't make it to Mega Satan. That made me quite furious, but...

The very next run I get Serpent's Kiss and Godhead early on and then Tech 2 and Death's Touch in the chests outside Mega Satan's door. I was worried that the lack of Swallowed Penny would be a problem, but I managed with Wooden Nickle + Car Battery + Charged Baby. Mega Satan didn't stand a chance.

A really good way to ensure fighting Mega Satan as Keeper is to use the Sacrifice Room while holding the Swallowed Penny. I honestly use that room as every character whenever I want to fight Mega Satan.

I actually didn't realize how much sacrifice rooms had changed until one of my recent keeper runs where I had swallowed penny. I was only trying to get some pickups, and suddenly angel items and fights. I think the update is really awesome and now I always wanna find one

(well, the very first time I figured this out didn't go so well. I didn't realize I could be transported right to the dark room and did so with absolutely no items. needless to say I died very fast. trial and error)
