I just noticed something.
okay, go ahead and say it "1001% on 2 save files and you still didn't know this?"...

anyway, I downloaded "missing hud 2" and I've been playing with it for the past week.
I noticed that when I pick up the mini mush, it says speed up and range up, but the missing hud program which shows all the stats, shows that the mini mush actually lowers range.

mini mush is actually "speed up and range down"

But shot-height (a hidden stat) gets increased. The more shot-height you have, the further your tear travels. If a certain shot-height is reached, the tear even flies over obstacles, like rocks or skulls.

So, even tho, it decreases your range-stat, your effective tear range will be slightly better.
