How do you use Flip on Tainted Lazarus?

When I played the coop beta I once found the flip item and could use it to get both the default and the ghost item.
Now I unlocked tainted Lazarus and I am not able to activate flip with him. Pressing Space doesn't do anything on the item with the ghost item behind.

With tainted Lazarus, the flip is in his cards/pills slot, so you have to press the cards/pills button to activate it.
