ONLINE COOP should have mod support.
If online coop had mod support, you can play your installed mods with friends and public online.

they might add it later since its only in beta so it's easier for devs to find bugs cuz some bugs can be caused by mods.

That would probably be impossible with the way Isaac implements mods, plus mods have unintended actions by the developers which would make them harder to implement. Really the only way it could be implemented is if they turn off certain parts of the API, but that would ruin lots of mods.

Netstart coop can work with some mods if all players have the same ones enabled, some sound and visual only mods will work even if only one person has it.

Notice how you said "some", not "most". Plus with quickplay it's extremely unlikely that you'll find a player with your same mods.

Unfortunately Edmund confirmed that online multiplayer will not have mod support.

That's honestly pretty lame tbh

bruh they should at least add item descriptions for multiplayer, most of the players don't actually KNOW what items do so they randomly take them and it ruins the fun for the others.

No you MUST memorize all 900 plus items and everything else or else you're not a TRUE Isaac player!/s

It's really as easy as adding an option to turn it on or off, but for some reason the devs think you HAVE to learn what items do yourself or else it's "cheating". I really don't understand why they think the game needs to be so unfriendly to beginners (or people who are like me who can't memorize what every single item in a 900 plus list does) I understand there's a learning curve, but some people are more casual than others. It's not like having it as an option ruins the gameplay, just have it auto off in the settings and people who want it on can just turn it on.
