Even after backup I still lost all my completion marks

I was doing the online beta and despite me backing up my save, even after putting the files back there, and in the steam remote folder for the game, all my completion marks are gone. I still have every character and item unlocked that I've worked towards, but no marks done whatso ever....

Is there a way to fix this and get my completion marks back or am I screwed?

I had this same issue long ago when resetting my computer after backing up my files, I have everything I unlocked including tainted characters and such, but no completion markings and all my challenges were marked as not done :((

That happens to me, my secrets/achievements/unlocks are still remain but my completion mark is gone though.

Does this ruin future unlocks? For example: I need to beat Hush as tainted Isaac to get the soul of isaac consumable. But now that the mark for Boss Rush is gone (half of the requirements for the unlock) will I have to do Boss rush again as T. Issac?

your save is being overwritten by the files in the steam cloud folder. that happens every time the game launches. to fix it, navigate to the cloud saves folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[YOUR USER ID]\250900\remote) and put your backups there. remember to match the names

I did that too, and I used the most recent rep files, and its strangely an even older save with less things. Missing character unlocks etc. I don't know how this game saves but I guess maybe I gotta go through repentance files despite whatever date is listed.

I encountered this issue as well - all unlocks are available, but no completion marks. Is there any fixes for this? (Except replacing cloud saves - this didn't work (sadly) )

dunno if anyone else can relate, but i don't have a userdata folder that matches my user/steam/whatever ID at all. can't find 250900 either. this is a mess and i really wish they told you upfront to disable cloud saves before you played online.

I did something like this and it worked
I removed the files from the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(steamid)\250900\remote"
and pasted there the files 20231129.rep_persistentgamedata1.dat and 20231129.rep_persistentgamedata2.dat from "C:\Users\marek\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance" and renamed rep_persistentgamedata1.dat and rep_persistentgamedata2.dat and everything works

Yes turn off cloud saving first. Then go to your backup and get the most recent save file that has the completion marks. How it finally worked for me was I deleted the previous repentance saves in the remote folder, then placed the correct backup file, renamed it to rep_persistentgamedata1.dat, then copied the same file again from the backup, but this time along with 2 and 3, and pasted those in the same remote folder as well.
