I got the "Angels" achivement

Does this mean I can kill angels now? The description says "The angels await!" I never made it into the chest ( My Black heart finished him out ) So im not sure if I can

Yes yes it does you can fight them by bombing them

it's talking about the angel rooms, if you go in a devil room and don't take the items, there is a 50/50 chance the next devil room will be an angel room instead.
you don't have to be in the chest to fight them.
this is one of the methods to gain access to mega satan.

That's not what he meant about the chest. He killed a level 10 boss (Chest or Dark Room, doesn't matter) while dying himself, killing the boss with a black heart effect. He did not touch the "endgame chest", but still got the unlock for beating the boss. He was wondering if the kill was actually counted or not.
The answer is "yes" (at least it should since he saw the "angels await" thing).
