Angel rooms hardly ever provide damage, but devil rooms do almost all the time.
Higher damage = higher chance to win.
So, angel rooms give you 2 eternal hearts or 3 soul hearts most of the time. Or 4 soul hearts behind key blocks with 1 eternal heart in the middle. Then, there is some chance you can get 1 pedestal item, which is either Dead Sea Scrolls, Holy Water or Breath of Life.
That's why I hate Godhead. It's nearly impossible to find amongst trash. Same goes for even my favorite afterbirth item: Crown of Light (God, I wish it was in treasure room pool, so I could enjoy it at least)
Most of the good angel room items (The Wafer, Holy Mantle, Soul, Mind, Holy Light) are also in treasure room pool, so what's the point of going for them anyway?
Just because devil deals are expensive doesn't mean they won't be good. They will be just as good as for any other character, except for Dead Cat.
Health? Abaddon and Ceremonial Robes all the way. Plus, sometimes there might be a deal with 2 free black hearts.
And if I can't afford a deal or get Krampus on Basement 2, my run is certainly screwed.
Angel rooms would've been so much better if:
1) Holy Water and Dead Sea Scrolls were removed from the pool.
2) If there was a guaranteed item with additional chance of soul hearts.
That way, they will be almost as good as devil deals.
