I understand i need a 5 win streak to get the achievement, but if i play regular runs do they reset my streak in the daily wins? i'm on my last 15 achievements before dead god and this is the only long term achievement left. (i think)

No, regular runs do not count. Neither do dailies you don't do, i.e. the 5 wins don't need to be 5 consecutive days, you can skip as many as you want. Skipping means not even starting them, though, as soon as you start you need to win or your streak is gone.

Thank you, I knew it didn't have to be consecutive but I was scared regular runs would reset the counter, and it being 24 hrs apart means I'd waste a lot of time if that was the case

You'll see it in the top right when you go into your save file, it'll tell you to press tab. You can only do the actual run once per day, but you can practice (but practice mode doesn't count towards completion achievements)
