Repentance not working on Deck

So, like most other posters in the last 24 hours, I'm unable to launch on Steam Deck since the most recent update. After trying like a dozen versions of Proton, uninstalling the game, reinstalling Steam and switching over to Beta, I found that if I disabled the Repentance DLC, the game launches. So I guess the update was Repentance-specific. I'm not sure why the devs can't just test these things before they go live, but I guess that's Steam for ya. A true Wild West of gaming.

PS; typing on the Deck is painful

i posted this in like every forum, a few days ago. i want everyone to know if you use mouse and keyboard.....you can play everything smooth including mods.i found a workaround by binding the controller input to the mouse and keyboard layout. its been 3 days , you need to fix this effin game . i know mad people, myself included , bought a steam deck JUST to play modded isaac. not to mention its a 50 dollar game thats like ten years old. this is unacceptable. i hate being that guy ,but why release an update without checking to see how it will affect the game? it literally crashed 100s or more of peoples game. 3 DAYS not a peep. fix the game

Amazing, I always knew about eg joy2key, and that the game launches without a controller, but nice lateral thinking here.

However.... I'm not able to get this to work, myself. I installed a program to bind buttons to keys, but Isaac still crashes because a controller is plugged in. For me, it's not that controllers don't work, but that the game crashes as soon as I plug a controller in.

I would need to somehow disable the detection of my controller completely? I'm using an 8bitdo pro 2 in xinput mode but also have others like xbox 360 or xbox one.

If it has worked before for you on your Deck, then try checking for game updates. There was a version recently that broke Deck compatibility, but they rolled it back after a day. So it should be exactly the same as before, as long as you are up to date.

Hey, same here actually. This ONLY started once I downloaded Repentance+. If i remove it, the game will load just fine. Any tips?

So... This still doesnt work. Ive tried accessing the code linked above and it is not available anymore. Anyone else experiencing this issue? It hasnt worked for me since last year on steamOS or on Steamdeck desktop mode.
