Repentance progression tips

So I finally bought it during Steam sales, and so far I've completed everything "pre-Repentance" as Bethany as well, just to make her on par with everyone else.
I've seen some of the new floors, and unlocked the variants of the first 2 (by killing all bosses).

So what's the progression here, without spoiling too much of the new content? Some hints will be enough.

I've seen the red door after Mausoleum-Mom, I assume it leads to DLC-Womb but I couldn't open it. Do I have to unlock something first?

Have you noticed there's a special room in Downpour / Dross 2 that can't be found on any other floor?
Once you've dealt with it properly, go to Mines / Ashpit 2 for another special room.
You should know then what to do with that flesh door.

There's a special fire in Downpour/Dross 2. I wonder what happens if you touch it?Additionally, if you haven't unlocked Holy Mantle for The Lost in Greed mode yet, you may want to do that now.

Honestly, I'm not sure I would have ever figured it out it my friend who got me into the game hadn't told me. It is something of a leap of logic.

But basically, you can get through that flesh door as soon as you unlock the alt path. You just have to know how to do so.

yeah I noticed that room, but couldn't figure out what to do... and I can't say I really noticed the thing you must touch, is barely different from the others.
I unlocked the Corpse but died, man these floors are insane, can't imagine how OP you have to be to survive as The Lost & co...
At least you can access Downpour/Mines II from the regular path as well, without doing both floors every time.

Congratz on making it there for the first time. You'll eventually get used to it with practice.

That's actually a decent tip for playing Lost after unlocking the alt path. You can zigzag the floors back and forth between normal and alt path. If you take Lost:
-Basement 1-2
-Downpour 2
-Caves 2
-Mines 2
Then Mausoleum 1-2 or Depths 2
Then you can hit up 5 separate boss challenge rooms (assuming they spawn from floor generation) for 5 additional boss items.
