cracked red key bug

when I leave trinkets in treasure or boss rooms to turn into cracked keys after getting dads note, the cracked keys are nowhere to be found, which makes it to where I cant unlock any tainted characters. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I am playing on repentance btw

Should be where you left the trinket on the way back up to home . Also first time you open the chest in moms room you get a red key which will also let you unlock the hidden door where the tainted characters are. I just got one for the first time tonight

So I just discovered something today that will help you . Drop the item in dads note room . That way as soon as you touch the note you will see the key . 👍 I just did this twice

If you're on the Ascent for the first time, you can't generate Cracked Keys as they're not unlocked yet. However, you're guaranteed to find the Red Key in Mom's chest once at Home (and opening the chest will unlock Cracked Key and the "drop trinket" method to generate them for later runs).
