Boss rush won't spawn

Everytime I beat Mom(and I'm positive its under 20 minutes) the boss rush will never spawn, I have afterbirth and I'm not sure if they made it so it doesn't spawn every time, but I would appreciate everyone's help if they know whats happening

Boss Rush is guarnteed to open if Mom is killed in under 20 minutes. Turn on the extra HUD in the options menu to track the time.

I'm really starting to get confused, the reason being is that I'm sure I kill her in under 3 minutes, you could pretty much see her health melt away, hmm, maybe I'll just try google it, I have no idea whats happening

lol i think i know whats goin on, you need to GET TO mom and kill her in 20 mins, the timer starts from when you begin in basement 1, NOT when you start fighting her.

The best way to get to the Boss Rush and Hush:
1. Get the treasure room item.
2. Go to the boss and kill it.
Works 99% of the time for me.

You don't need "extra HUD", just press Tab button on your keyboard

The thing I usually do in BOI is take my time on my runs and scavenge the entire floor until there is nothing left, like secret rooms, super secret rooms, etc. Most of the time it payed off, for example I once got a glitter bomb and the bomber man upgrade so I could just use bombs to get almost anything i needed from coins, keys, more bombs, and even trinkets, took 2 bombs to kill mom's heart, and I felt real good, don't even get me started when i got the tower curse afterward.

a good way to doing the boss rush with each character is to just hold R down til you get a item room right next to you and if you find an OP item like moms knife, VR headset thing etc, just spam through as quick as you can, if the item you get is ♥♥♥♥ or not too great then hold down R again til it is.
