The Pact bug?

I was at one soul heart and one black heart, then picked up a health up and went into the Devil room.

I bought The Pact (listed at 3 soul hearts), but ended up with only two soul hearts total. I should have had one red heart and two soul hearts.

I accessed the Devil Room prior to the boss fight via a Joker card. At that time, I did not have any red heart containers.

I don't think that's correct.

I can take a two red heart Devil Deal while only having one red heart, and I just get the deal for one heart, no additional loss of soul/black/eternal hearts.

Yeah the bug is, that the devil deal should not cost 3 soul hearts, if you have at least one red-heart container. Coding-wise, a "3 soul heart-deal" is meant to take any 3 hearts away from you.

It's a known bug, that can happen, if you've entered a devil room without red-heart containers, leave and come back later with red-heart containers. Also, using something like a strength-card may not change the price from soul-hearts to red hearts either, if you re-entered a devil room on the same floor.

If I have 1 red heart and 6 soul hearts, and take one of three deals with the red heart, the other two will remain red heart deals but if they're re-rolled (D6 or Pertho), their price changes.

So not having enough soul hearts when taking a deal (in soul hearts) results in what, exactly?

Even if I had multiple red hearts?

So it will take 3 hearts total, or ALL hearts, even if I had 12?
