Why, we didn't even have spectal tears!
It took me two hundred hours to get all completion marks.
And then I did it all again after just fifty hours!
Jokes aside, just keep playing until you break the game.
Two Steam Sales and Restock is common.
Sack Head, Blank Card, and Jera is also common.
Eventually, you'll find yourself a Dad's Key or Get Out of Jail Free Card to get past the Gates.
If you're worried about dying, The Battery and The Hourglass makes the game a joke.
Don't forget to only play the game on Hard Mode, yew skrub.
I did take all the devil deals, I've brought Jera rune with me all along from Necopolis to The Chest, and just as I expcted - I found blank card in one of the chests. So I just spammed it in the first room and eventually got myself Dad's keys.
As for Mega Satan the good thing is you can take your time, so clear every level completely to get as many items as you can from secrets and everything, maybe getting some Perthro's and such as well for useless items. Also like GoreMagala said you can use Curse rooms with Holy Mantle so you have a chance of getting the Dead Cat in a Curse Room this way. Also there's still very good items you can get at times from the angel rooms. If you get the Key quickly from angel rooms opening up fast or from a Goat Head/Joker's you can then take devil deals if you get some afterwards. The Missing Poster is a 1-up for the Lost so if you find one it can be helpful.
Also I have a side question for anyone. Is the reason the global achievements for Eternal God is 0.6% and 1001% is at 2.3% because something I heard you can do with Rebirth/Afterbirth? That is I heard people talking in another game before I had played either back in late November that you could Alt-F4 out of the game to keep your game if you screwed up. Is this why there's such a discrepancy between the orginal Isaac and the new one? I do think the original is more difficult for any given character on hard than the new one, but there's much more to do in the new one as well as playing as the Lost and Keeper is annoying(but fun too). So it seems to me the completion should be close to same or possibly even lower for Rebirth/Afterbirth over the orginal. It took me almost double the time just because of the Sheer volume to complete everything in Rebirth/Afterbirth over the orginal.
Re-roll until you get amazing items for whatever you're aiming for.
The ideal for a Mega Satan run would probably be Battery + extra card slot + Blank card with Joker and Credit Card, or aim to pick up Diplopia.
the holy mantle made lost pretty viable in general
None of those items re-roll the Lost's items.
@GoreMagala: Godhead isn't even the best item in the game. It's good, but it's not worth the suffering unlocking it causes, and it's definitely not a reward for 'gitting gud'; it's a reward for being good AND being very lucky.
I mentioned in my first post a question about why the completetion is so much higher in Rebirth/Afterbirth over the orginal Isaac; if you just want to unlock Godhead find out if that's true if you don't actually care about true accomplishment. I guess I'll check online somewhere or do my own post about Alt+F4 question because curious about that or if people cheat another way or whatever, just seems to high in comparison.
@Phyre: I agree.
The first hundred or so Lost runs I did I tried my hardest to win. Then I got burned out from losing in situations that I couldn't possibly win in, and took to re-rolling any Cellar starts, or sometimes any floors without an adjacent Treasure room.
