Why is Bumbo so loved?

Note: Not questioning the love like "gosh Bumbo is so bad" (don't even own Afterbirth yet)
More want to know what do you love about him/her/it (I DON'T KNOW)
This idea for a thread sparked from seeing lots of people saying Bumbo's their favorite item.

He gives you an extra source to dump money into. Once you get far enough into the game, money starts becoming redundant making him more useful. This is all besides the fact he drops bombs, does great damage, and gives you items.

True. Money does get almost useless past Womb/Utero II where there's almost always a arcade.
Also, what are the limits on what Bumbo can give? The wiki's kinda unclear on what Bumbo drops.

I saw NL do the same with The Lost.
Bumbo + Gnawed Leaf post-womb ( no holes anymore) seems to be a game-winner.

Bumbo can drop what bum friend drops (hearts, bombs, cards etc) but he can also drop coins (very redundant) and chests! Also live bombs. Watch out for those.

I'm assuming the Item Pool Bumbo uses is Treasure Room.

According to the wiki the items are from random item pools.
If Bumbo drops a pedestal item, it will be pulled from a random item pool. [bindingofisaacrebirth.fandom.com]

hes not the best familiar by far but hes a bro and unless you like NEED to fix your run hes just fun to have around
