new cry baby - any reason to start with the original Issac?

Hi, I was just wondering if there is any reason I should start my exploration of Isaac with the original Binding of Isaac? From what I've read, Rebirth seems like just a better experience overall as everything was sort of built upon. I was hoping to get an opinion of someone who played both.

the first one is much harder, it even has a harder mode, but you should get rebirth

I've only played the first 10 minutes or so of TBOI on Xbox 360,and the game is laggy as hell,to the point where it's almost unplayable,Rebirth on the other hand,is probably one of the most entertaining games i've ever played in my life.

Original isaac - challenging and hard, have very pleasing to eye flash art style, better music.

I would just get rebirth as it seems to run alot more smoothly and in a bullet hell game I think thats worth more than the original art.

I would say definitely jump right into Rebirth and skip the original. The remake is better in nearly every way.

The only reasons I would even consider recommending the original to anyone: A bit of nostalgia (does not apply to you), somewhat higher difficulty (for a newcomer, Rebirth should be plenty difficult enough), better music (subjective, and can be modded into Rebirth if desired), or basically wanting to see an early sluggish (due to Flash) version of Isaac to see how far the Isaac "series" has come.

Thanks for the tips. I started with Rebirth and I'm sure I won't miss anything. The content is refreshingly overwhelming. I'll probably get Afterbirth pretty soon

Rebirth allows you to supsend the game in the middle of a run, exit and come back later. There is no saving in the original. Also, native gamepad support in Rebirth.

not really, because already existing things were changed in rebirth but have fun either way
