5 Nights at Moms Achievement

I currently have a 3-Win Streak with 3 different characters on hard mode. I went to the Beast with Tainted Azazel, to Delirium with Tainted Samson and to Isaac in Cathedral (cuz i wanted to get over with it) with Tainted Isaac.

Now, I have read online, that in Repentance, you don't need 5 consecutive wins with different characters, I've read it is enough to do 3 if you're playing on hard mode. I did three different characters on hard mode but didn't get the achievement. Is this simply not true or did I mess up by only going to Cathedral? Anything I am missing? Any Advice?

For anybody that doesn't know, five consecutive wins on different characters unlock the Achievement.

It is true that you only need 3, hard mode is irrelevant, so is the path you take.

Are you sure you don't have the achievement already? It's pretty hard *not* to get it at some point when you are already far enough that you are fighing Delirium and have tainted characters unlocked.

Edit: I see in your profile that you don't have it yet, but check your save game, sometimes the achievement just doesn't register with Steam.

Did you end on the same characters? I'm pretty sure the achievement counts which character you ended the run on. If you really did start with 3 different characters then that is the only reason i can see you not unlocking it proper.

Does your win streak in-game properly say 3? If below that number you might be doing something ruining the streak, f.e. resetting until you get good items, winning with plan c (I learned it the hard way lmao) etc.
Ending the run early in sheol (with polaroid) and vice versa shouldn't interfere with this achievement cuz that's exactly how I got mine.

Thanks for all the tips, I still don't think I've messed anything up here....

... on second thought, I think I did beat the Beast with Plan C (literally the first time I used it), so if that actually is the problem, I'll get it next time.

Thing is, I am currently grinding completion marks with single characters and it is working out pretty well, but ofc it doesn't help with the achievement. So I will simply continue to play and maybe complain again when I have most of the other achievements.

Yeah Plan C gets you the completion mark for the beast with no problem but the streak resets back to zero cuz you still die. Sucks to hear someone else had to learn it the hard way; better luck next time!

I just got three wins on different characters, win streak says 3, but no achievement. It's odd to me that I never got this achievement before. Is it bugged or is there some other criteria? Going to try on two more characters to see if it triggers at five wins.

It triggered at 4 wins for me. One of them was on Hard. I don't know this but suspect it could be as simple as Hard mode count's as 2 wins for the achievement. Could also be tainted characters don't count.

I just got it on my fourth win as well, but they were all Normal. My best guess is that there's something wrong with how it triggers and it's the fourth run that actually makes it happen.

I am convinced that this achievement is bugged, I got it on the third winstreak of 5, my advice is to keep trying to win with different characters and that's it, in any case grab the polaroid and go to sheol in each game to finish it quickly

For anyone still having trouble, it also took me four runs to get this achievement (T.Isaac Beast > T.Samson Mega Satan > Azazel Sheol > Isaac Chest). My only guess is that the Beast fight doesn't count towards the streak for whatever reason

I've read that you need 5 wins on 5 characters. I did in Greed mode. Spent 2 month on it. 25 wins right now on the screen. Nothing!!!

In Repentance, the 5 Nights at Mom's achievement is bugged in various ways:
- Because the game uses 32-bit architecture and has 41 characters, the game counts one of the first 9 characters as two wins. That means if in your streak you play once with a character from Isaac to Lazarus, you will get the achievement with 4 wins. If you play with two characters from Isaac to Lazarus, you will get the achievement with 3 wins. Since the game uses 64-bit architecture on consoles, this bug is PC-only.
- Using normal Characters to get a win and then using its tainted counterpart won't work, only one of them will work for obtaining the achievement.
- Additionally, due to integer overflow, some tainted characters share the same bitmask with some normal characters. The game resets the achievement streak counter if two runs are done with characters with the same bitmask. Tainted Lilith has the same bitmask as Isaac.
Here are the pairs of characters that have the same bitmask :
- Tainted Keeper and Magdalene,
- Tainted Apollyon and Cain,
- Tainted Forgotten and Lazarus,
- Tainted Bethany and ???,
- Tainted Jacob and Eve,
- Tainted Dead Lazarus and Samson,
- Tainted Jacob in Lost form and Azazel.
If you did a run with Isaac or Lilith, do not finish a run with Tainted Lilith or the counter will reset. Not confirmed yet but by the same logic as the bug above, this one is likely pc only too.

5 wins on Eden
5 wins on Cain
5 wins on Azazel
5 wins on Samuel
5 wins on Lilith

You need to do just 5 runs in a row, and each new run should be done with a different character.
Also modded characters don't count.
