Is left hand glitched or something?

So I got my passion for this game re-ignited recently and started to go for some sweet eden streaks (as it's literally the only thing that's left for me on this game) and 2 different times I've found something incredibly weird.

During 2 different runs I've found the trinket "The Left Hand" which replaces all chests with Red chests, this item is obviusly insane for the amount of health and items it can give you, which is a life saver on eden runs that usually start pretty slow and bad. So the strategy is obviously to drop it before the chest to get all your guaranteed items but, as I said, on 2 different runs I happened to find this trinket, pick it up and then it just disappears but I keep getting red chests. And no, it's not a visual glitch cause I've picked other trinkets (cause I forget I picked that up as it isn't showing on screen) and I've been tried to drop all my items (RT with xbox controller) and I still keep getting exclusively red chests.

Is this a known glitch? Is it happening cause some sort of recent patch or is it like an eden weird interaction? Cause it's pretty annoying getting ♥♥♥♥ed like that on multiple runs (Not that I lost them but still pretty annoying). Here's a screenshot where you can clearly see I don't have any trinkets at all but yet I got red chests (And no I didn't drop the item on another room and came back, why would I do that, just for those weird always skeptics).

The Gulp pill effect makes you swallow trinkets you currently hold to make their effect permanent on the whole run. It's the same effect as the Smelter active item.
If you used one while holding that trinket, then it's perfectly normal.

I know that and that's the issue, I can guarantee you that I didn't get any gulp pills on either run, the run from the screenshot was played literally 5 minutes ago and for sure I didn't gulp the left hand up.

can i ask you did u ever get the item marbles? now i dont know if u have it unlocked yet but as the only items that will gulp ur trinket is the gulp pill smelter and marbles ofc marbles will have a chance to gulp ur trinket when u get hit while smelter and gulp pills u get to choose what trinket u get to gulp but there u have it if u had none of these items theres definitally something not right here
