A annoying thing about youtubers who post nothing but PERFECT RUNS

So something i've noticed is that youtubers seemingly NEVER have a bad run, this is the image they wanna uphold, that they are gods at the game, even going as far to using some clever video editing to make sure it looks like their win streak isn't gone.

This game is a roguelike, getting the perfect run every single time IS IMPOSSIBLE there will ALWAYS be more times when you get a crap build that can't even carry you to "It Lives" or that one mob that manages to tap you that you didn't notice until the last second who ends your run in failure.

It aggravates me to no end how these youtubers only upload their perfect runs. Now I'm not saying upload every single failed run cuz lord knows 90% of their uploads would be that. :P

But if you've got a really good run that ends in failure, don't sweep it under the rug and act like it never happened. Upload it and let people realize, "No, I'm not a god at this game, i have bad runs all the time, just like you."

And yes, i'm sure many of you will say: "even a crap build can beat the game." and you'd be right...but how often does that ACTUALLY HAPPEN? How often have you managed to run 2 straight floors with ZERO KEYS dropping, meaning you missed 2 shops and 2 item rooms worth of potentially VITAL stat up items.

Or that one shot always manages to tag ya last second, ruining your devil/angel deal chance for 3 straight floors of potentially MASSIVE stat up items you missed 3 times in a row. You can't tell me you can salvage a run where you are still running on the same attack score you started on floor 1 with on floor 5. Hell, you could have OP dmg stat but it means JACK DIDDLY SQUAT cuz your shotspeed is an abysmal 0.20.

These are the kinds of runs we normal players encounter all the time yet these youtubers go to such lengths to make it look like they NEVER have a failed run. Of course it is just as possible to get multiple great runs in a row if the RNG is in your favor.

Hell, I managed to get a good run just yesterday, beat lamb and all, then my next 5 runs were absolute crap. My point is, I wish youtubers would drop the illusion of being "gods" at this game.

Just my general thoughts on the matter anyways.

What a weird post, why do you care if other people are better than you at the game? Look at a guy like cobalt, he live streams all his runs and goes on streaks of 100+, so I don't really know what you're on about.

I know it sounds petty and self-conscious but they make me feel like I'm ALWAYS doing something wrong during my runs, like the thoughts go through my mind "why can't I get the perfect run like they do everytime?" then I have to remind myself that they aren't, they're just making it look like they are which runs me around in an infuriating circle of "Want to call them out but don't want to get the comments section breathing down my neck."

Unless the youtuber has established themselves as amusing in failure the click bait of "OMFG MOST EPIC BROKEN OMEGA PERFECT RUN" is likely to get them more views. It's just marketing.

I have to ask, what are you basing these assumptions on? You have 159 of 637 achievements and have barely scratched the surface of the game. How can you be so sure about this when you have no experience yourself?

Assumptions? HARDLY! This factual proof. Roguelikes are notorious for giving you failed runs over and over. Then there's my experience to gauge from which is 90% failed runs.(not due to death but crap build that wouldn't survive against it lives let alone lamb, satan, or issac)

No, the "ASSUMPTION" here is believing you can clear a run when your attack stat is still the same as it was on floor 1 or your movement speed is an abysmal 0.50.(good luck dodging ANYTHING! LOL!) Or that one pickup that UTTERLY RUINED YOUR BUILD making it crap cuz curse of the blind was active and you threw caution to the wind in the item room. I mean, you wanna press on with these kinds of builds, all I can say is:

When you inevitably die, remember my post and hate yourself for proving me right. :)

This is just straight proof that you're just bad at the game. I'm not even good and I regularly go on streaks of 10+ wins. If you're losing 90% of your runs you're just bad, no other way around it.

Maybe next time you should just realise that there are people that are actually good at the game, instead of assuming everyone sucks like you do before you open your mouth. Literally go watch cobaltstreak on twitch for an hour, pick literally any time hes playing and you'll see he wins probably 95%+ of his runs because hes actually good at the game. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two.
