Question regarding Redemption item

I've got the item unlocked, it's my last item to collect before I get Dead God, but trying to fulfil the requirements for it doesn't seem to be working. I take a Devil Deal, I don't get Contrition (which supposedly makes it so you can't get Redemption), but after several runs and a lot of blood-letting, I've managed to get several Angel Room items and no Redemptions.

The Wiki suggests it would spawn Redemption if you would've got an Angel Room item, but is there more to this than suggested? Or rather, am I missing something, or does the Redemption item only have a chance to appear if you fulfil the requirements rather than being a guarantee?

That's what I've been trying, cause Confessionals are DAMN rare to find on their own and have a low chance to spawn an Angel item besides.

Confessionals pay out very infrequently, not worth using them to get Redemption. Snag a basement 2 devil deal and use sacrifice rooms. It is guaranteed, if you land the 7th roll, tested with console command. Do you run any mods that may interfere with item pools?

Nope, never run mods. Still in a run and got Vade Retro this time, so I'm thinking it might be easier to find another Death Certificate to sort it out.

EDIT: Same run still, Trisagion this time.

EDIT 2: Started a new run, took a deal with the Devil (Mom's Knife) and found a Sacrifice Room on the same floor. Used it 7 times, got The Mind.

Apologies for double-posting, but I've done several runs now and picked up several Angel Room items after having taken Devil Deals, and I've got no reason to believe that it's working. Can some other folks tell me what they did to get Redemption on their runs? Like, no console-command stuff, no Death Certificate (which is gonna be my next goal since the "intended method" isn't working) but difficulty, character, any details that might not seem important.

I've let blood in Sacrifice Rooms on the same floor as I've taken a Devil Deal, I've done it on floors without Deals, before and after the boss so Angel Deal chances didn't come into play, and every time I've had no luck on Redemption. I can't give as much information on Confessionals cause every damn time I find 'em they explode after a few uses.

I've been told it's "guaranteed". How can I have bad luck with something that's supposed to drop as a guarantee with certain requirements to make it drop, unless the "guarantee" isn't accurate?

Another double-post but I finally got it to drop. Maybe Magdalene can't get it to drop? Or it needs to be Soul Hearts lost? Cause I got it on the floor I'd got a deal from the Devil with Forgotten's soul-side to avoid giving up an Eternal Heart I'd collected. Genuinely unsure what it was that caused it to not want to work but it finally dropped so I'm glad it's not TOTALLY busted.

Internet for Redemption says :
1 : take a devil deal, go sacrifice health in a sacrifice room, when you sacrifice enough health to spawn an angel item, it should spawn Redemption instead.
2 : make the confessionnal pay out after taking a devil deal, it should spawn Redemption
3 : use spindown dice on spirit shackle

There is no link with soul hearts or any character. As long as you fulfilled one of these points, you have guaranteed spawn of Redemption.

Either you forget to give us important details about what you did, either you don't know how to follow a guide, either you are a troll or i don't know what to do anymore...
Coz guranteed drop = 100% = one run and it's finish. Boom, found, next.
Took me one run to spawn it.
You don't have mods so we can eliminate this from the problem and the problem don't have many factors...

Generally-accepted methods are all well and good, and like I say, I got the item first try with The Forgotten. I'm no stranger to the methods, otherwise I wouldn't be making this post. And for reasons that escape me, Magdalene cannot get Redemption to drop. I've uploaded multiple pictures to Steam showing the items I got instead of Redemption (as an example: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2660568199 Floor 2, took the Knife as a deal, then went STRAIGHT to the Sacrifice room and got The Mind) and I even have multiple videos showing the runs I have where I take a Devil Deal, find a Sacrifice Room afterwards, then release enough blood to get the 1/3 chance of getting an Angel Room item. I would kindly appreciate you not calling me a troll for asking questions about something that doesn't seem to be working. I would, however, be interested in seeing if you'd be so kind as to do the things I've done (try and get Redemption as Magdalene after taking a Devil Deal, without console commands or mods or whatever) and confirm that it isn't just me that's having this issue, because you need to remember, this game gets updates. It got updated twice this month if I remember right. There's a good chance a patch causes the item to not drop properly for Magdalene as an error.

Here's a list of what I've done when trying to get Redemption:

• Take a Deal then several floors later try for Redemption before killing the boss
• Take a Deal then several floors later try for Redemption after killing the boss
• Take a Deal then on the SAME floor try for Redemption
• Take a Deal then on the next floor try for Redemption, get thrown to the Angel Room and take an item, then use the spikes the seventh time

I figured the last one was likely causing Angel Room precedence so I considered that to be a problem even if I wasn't getting Contrition. But making sure I got the Devil room and THEN trying for Redemption seemed like the best bet. And it still wasn't working. So with all that in mind, and the videos I've linked, what's your explanation for why I'm not being given Redemption as Magdalene?

It wouldn't be unusual for there to be something in the code that actively prevents magdaline from getting redemption, as some kind of biblical reference.

This'd be interesting if Mary Magdalene had been deprived of a redemption in the Bible, but she's one of the people who had been saved by Jesus Christ. And I feel that such an exclusion would need to be listed on the game's Wiki page if this were true because Maggy's the best character to use to try and get Redemption. 4 Hearts, Full Health pill and Yum Heart as a starting set means you don't need to put in much work to try and make Redemption spawn, like finding heart containers or soul hearts.

My penny bet is on her having code that was meant to make it easier, that ended up doing the opposite, and didn't get looked at once the choice to make repentance a 100% chance .

Maybe. I imagine there's mention of it on the Isaac discord, but I don't really go to public discords after one too many foul incidents. Might have to change that to see if it's been brought up or if it needs bringing up, because I could reliably get the 7-sac strat to work with Maggy; she just wasn't allowed to get Redemption for some reason.
