Ps5 Controller problems

I'm utterly lost and confused on how to fix this. My left analog stick is rotated 90 degrees for movement, my right analog stick is the same except in the menu. D-pad doesn't work at all, and the only thing that properly works is the symbols for firing in the right directions. How do I fix this?

thanks for this solution! to be more specific you go to Settings -> Controller -> toggle on "Enable Steam Input For Playstation Controllers" and you should be good to go

@burn1none, I've done that... the controller works while in Steam and as soon as I start the game... Doesn't work anymore...
