Sharp straw + ipecac + jackob&Easu = ????

i got sharp straw and ipecac on the same run and the straw dealt no damage it was meant to. Why is that happening. (bouth items belonged to Jackob NONE to Esau)

It's coded to only get +2 damage instead of +40 from IPECAC.

I'm not strictly against these kind of very specific interactions, like D1&Jera (not sure if this is still true post-nerf), it's just not very consistent or intuitive, hence why this thread exists.

So, in short i needed to get more damage upgrades insted of just a times 4x multiplier

You can still get any other kind of damage multiplier (Cricket's Head, Polyphemus, Eve's Mascara, etc). It's just IPECAC+Sharp Straw in particular that has this kind of interaction.

As a general rule, Ipecac's massive flat damage bonus goes away if you try to do anything degenerate with it. Each such interaction is individually coded as a (non-)synergy, but there are enough of them for this to mostly hold true.
