How do I get the achievment a strange door?

I've been trying to look for guides but don't find anything decent

You get that achievement for beating Mother (the boss from repentance, not to be confused with "Mom".

Do you also want information on how to get to "Mother"?

In Downpour/Dross II make sure u hit the white flame that makes u a ghost where u can enter the mirror and head to the item room for a "special piece" (hint u also can refight the boss for another item but beware you act like the lost in there so 1 hit holy mantel another one and bye bye) after that enter the mines/ashpit II hit all 3 yellow swtiches jump into the minecart in the room , follow the path and get the other "special piece" after u enter the mom fight (stompy legs) ull see a red door that u under normal standard cant enter now use your new pal destory the door and enter another boss fight after that exit and head downward for another new area and the "mother" boss fight at the 2nd stage after u beat ther "a strange door" will appear

Oh, well, I guess someone got to it first, though there are some things you should note:
1) If you haven't unlocked the holy mantle on the lost, then when you go into the lost form then you won't have the holy mantle, making the process much harder to do.
2) An alternative to using the knife familiar, you can use the sharp key active item to get through. Cracked orb and Soul of Cain. Doesn't work if you use dad's key or mama mega though.

No one has mentioned it, and I assume you already have, but to even unlock Mother you need to beat Hush 3 times.

I never saw hush, how do I get him?

It is accessed by defeating Mom's Heart or It Lives! within 30 minutes there is a hole in the wall that lead to it
