Floors have gotten longer again?
For me it's making the early/mid game feel like a real slog.

Ed and his team have a done an amazing job with repentance but it feels like they missed the mark a little bit making curses too frequent(Curse of the lost especially) and the floors longer again.

I don't mind difficulty changes but stretching the game out too much makes it feel a bit watery and boring.

Whadya think?


I'd like to add that it's not an attack on the game, Ed or anyone that enjoys it as is. I want the game to flourish and be as enjoyable as possible for everyone! Happy gaming y'all!

It could well just be me to be fair, worth noting I am playing on hard if that makes a difference

I always played only on hard and I don't feel any difference besides that I am not really so fast as before but I think that is because I am doing everything slower

I've gone the other way, I end up rushing to get things going a bit quicker

i started skipping item rooms on curse of the blind floor, just to get planetariums, i usually don't take the time to find secret rooms in curse of the lost floors (even tho the item pool in there is so juicy) and i full clear floors, to get said planetariums. so yeah, i'm taking pretty long, but i've pretty much always full cleared

It's definitely the way to go given the games gotten tougher, need all the juicy extras we can get our grubby gamer mitts on :steamhappy:

In thinking about it, I'd kill for Ed to add in a game speed slider. Even slow or under powered runs could still be made to be very engaging by speeding up the entire games pace.

The game balance would be unaffected and it would both respect your time more and be more engaging to play generally

Maybe on later floors and the new floors because new enemies and bosses have to much health so it takes forever to clear rooms. Early floors have felt the same tho

I still want the ability to fast travel to any previously explored room. Backtracking in later floors has always been painful. It would also make the strange door in Depths 2 more accessible (instead of hunting the floor for a marked skull to get a fool card).

Perhaps it's the new high hp repentance enemies that make it feel slower I guess. Feels pretty painful with base tears and damage. Make the enemies harder and more interesting by all means but jeez don't make them bullet sponges.

Oh baby ETG style speed boost/teleport when running through cleared rooms that'd be great!

It's random. Sometimes floors are really short, other times it's so big, you're wondering if there is no XL in the background and game frogot to tell you that.

Are you playing on hard mode? That may be the reason..

I've been keeping an eye out for XLs but just regular old floors seem to have grown. I'm probably just sad to have low tears and damage again at the start of the run.

Yeee hard mode. It's pretty brutal now huh
