Option for zoomed out for bigger rooms?
Dunno why this wasn't even considered. Was playing coop greed mode which was very annoying because of fighting over the screen. Why isn't there just some ingame setting that lets you be zoomed out during large rooms to where it fits on one screen? So theres no fighting for vision.

It may be a design choice. The game has pixel art graphics, and changing "ppi" value of the game in some areas may not be good for the visuals.

An option would be nice, but one thing you can do is put the game in windowed and then resize it vertically to make it like an ultrawide type resolution. Of course that will make everything smaller, but you may or may not like the way it looks.

This may be an engine limitation, as Egg McMuffin once said he wanted to make the Mother fight zoomed out like in antibirth but couldn't because antibirth made reverse-engineered (iirc?) edits to the engine that aren't normally possible.

Go to documents, my games, binding of isaac Repentance and open the options file with word editor and change Maxscale=99 to 3 or 2. You're welcome ;).

Setting this option to 2 or 3 will zoom the playing area out, 2 or 3 have varying degrees of zoom.

I mean, if the Antibirth mod had a way to do it, I'm kind of confused why they couldn't have just implemented it via the same method for the official release.

But does that permanently affect the zoom or just for large rooms? My point is having an option that only zooms out for large rooms

I feel like something like actually being able to see the game should take priority over graphic fidelity. Thats just me though. If any reason I feel like its the reason Squaredudes said above.

considering the game already scales object sizes up/down for stuff like giant Champion enemies, mini treasure items from chests-within-chests, and etc, yeah, there's no real reason they couldn't implement this.
It's especially been getting on my nerves when the game spawns the hitscan eye-turret enemies offscreen in Greed Mode, since I can't exactly avoid their lasers if I don't even know they've spawned, and having some sort of zoom would fix problems like that instantly.

no it will stay Zoomed out, and no they won't implement that for only large rooms, we've been asking them to do that for years now.

on the other hand you do get used to it being zoomed out though.

It's more of a coding problem is all, is why modders haven't done it either.

Except, as pointed out earlier, Antibirth literally had this feature for its final boss. To my understanding they had to modify the code way more intensely than a mere workshop mod is capable of doing, but the point is that it's definitely doable at the developer level.

this method didn't do anything for me, anyone know why?
