Unable to unlock Backasswards and Ultra Hard?
So I picked up the game again and decided to purchase Afterbirth+ and Repentance a few days ago and I'm slowly making progress. I'm slowly making progress and it's fun to learn and go through some of the new maps in these two updates. However, I do have one problem right now:

So I've just beaten ??? twice now and according to the wiki it says that you unlock the Backasswards and Ultra Hard challenges after you've beaten either ??? or The Lamb, but I don't seem to be unlocking either of these achievements. During my latest kill I did get 2 different achievements though, but not these two specifically. I've already 100%ed the basegame and did a small portion of Afterbirth a long time ago, Afterbirth+ and Repentance is completely new for me. I did not reset my save when I started playing again, so I'm still playing on my old save.

Is there something I am doing wrong or is the game bugged for me?

Here's my guess: Both those challenges start/end at Mega Satan. When you think about it, those challenges should not unlock from just killing ???/The Lamb, because why would a challenge unlock for a boss you've never even encountered yet, thus potentially spoiling it? So my assumption is, to stay consistent with the other challenge unlocks, Repentance corrected it so that you have to actually beat Mega Satan in order to unlock those challenges now. The wiki is likely outdated.

If you've already beaten that boss years ago in the base game... try defeating it again? Maybe there's a save file flag that was added in later DLCs that you haven't obtained yet, so it's worth a shot.

I believe the new dlc bugs some unlocks for the game. I had these two challenges unlocked before the most recent dlc, but after installing it these two challenges are suddenly locked, along with a few other things. super annoying tbh.

Is there no key that syncs the achievements you've unlocked in the game itself? I don't want to lose all the progress I've made. When I first booted up Isaac with all DLC's installed it unlocked like 30 achievements for me, but not all of them like these two apparently.

That sounds like a good idea! I'll try it out tomorrow and post what my results were.

I just beat the boss and I unlocked both of the challenges. Thanks for the help!
