Error 51

I bought Repentance Yesterday and it worked fine. I wanted to play it today, but the Steam Error 51 popped up. I tried everything that i could find on the Internet (e.g. F-Secure,verifiying etc.) but couldnt fix it. Any more tips?

uninstall it, reinstall it, and try going to the isaac "redistributables" folder and re-install those.

if this doesnt work im stumped, maybe try installing the visual c++ all in one, you can find it on google, its on the techpowerup website

also make sure all dlc are checked perhaps, just throwing ideas out there

I literally have the same problem, yesterday it worked but today morning said error 51, left it for 8 hours thinking it's just the PC but still saying error 51.

I did some testing on which DLC is not functioning by properties and then DLC's and ticking off each box each time and updating it and seeing if it opens or not, I found out that repentance dlc is causing this issue, I don't know why or how to fix it but I know this is the dlc which for me causes to say error 51.

I had the same outcome by just disabling it, maybe Edmund just needs to hotfix this bug in the near future

I tried reinstalling the whole thing (all things in bindng of isaac dlcs) and it went through rebirth, after birth and afterbirth + but when it went over 500MB (when it's downloading repentance) steam automatically pauses and doesn't allow me to continue installing, so there is clearly an error on repentance.

Yo I fixed the problem, I finally noticed something while trying to fix this damn thing, it's actually very simple, a program is probably blocking the program due to safety reasons (which aren't important at all), so to fix this error 51, do windows+r and type in the little box msconfig then press enter, in general tab tick of the box of load start up items as this opens all the porgrams so you don't want that at all at once, then go to services tab and and tick the box of hide all microsoft services, then press disable all, apply and then ok so now you restart your pc so the apps won't pop up, then if the binding of isaac repentance works then great, if you really want to you can go back to the services and tick all performance GPU's and that (e.g. NVIDA, ASUS) but make sure to disable all antivirus software as they probably blocked the game (btw it's safe without it and if you are scared without it turn it on while not playing isaac but turn it off such game where error 51 appears) and disable all useless programs which are used for something else (e.g. ARMOURY CRATE service, Apple Mobile Device Service) and this should work, if not it could be due to steam being corrupt (not updated/missing files) or isaac repentance being corrupt, which you can search the internet how to fixed it, but it probably the antivirus software as if it worked 2 days ago, something probably detected something wrong with the dlc after you turned of the PC yesterday.

It Worked. I just disabled F-Secure (Even tho it wasnt even installed at all when i got my pc) Thank you dude.
