The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Wow Proptosis got nerfed immensely
I finally found one a couple days ago, got really happy for my run, but instantly I realized it's now useless.

And Range Ups don't do anything for it. They turned an amazing item into gutter trash.

they didn't really change anything about it, except prevent the damage boost from applying to some stuff like blue flies and other stuff that scales on your damage, now it literally works the same as lump of coal, just opposite.
"Proptosis is no longer a flat multiplier to the damage stat (it's now a lesser additive increase). Tear damage is still determined by a distance-based multiplier, and at point blank it will do more damage than previously (up to 300% damage). Damage scales linearly down to 0% with distance."

Still an incredibly above average item that I would take in a heartbeat on most runs. Nerfed does not equal bad. Its just not as broken as it was previously.

Honestly, it feels a lot better to use now. I didn't really like the old Proptosis that much, but this new one actually feels powerful up close.

I may not understand the change... so take this with a pinch of salt... but the old proptosis was much better? Because your tears impacted with a damage up whatever the distance - damage was higher if you were closer to the enemy, but even at max distance, damage was still a bit higher than before getting proptosis. Whereas now your tears may do less than previous damage and even close to no damage as they get closer to their max range, right?

Before the change, it doubled the player's damage. And it stayed bigger and went longer with Range up items, and they got and stayed bigger if you got something like Godhead or Sacred Heart. Now Proptosis actually makes both of those items worse, and not taking Proptosis is a better option, because only Shot Speed makes its range increase. It's got less range than the Number 2 Pee shot.

Wow, it's almost like the damage is no longer doubled, Range ups don't increase range, and it stays really short range no matter what you do.

But to you, if the moon is really bright outside, then you surmise it has to be daytime.
