Negative gives +1 damage. Polaroid grants invulnerability when you get hit and it leaves you to half a red heart

Negative hits all enemies instead of having the invincible barrier.

If you have red hp take the negative. If your only on soul hearts take the polaroid.

Not always the best choice, but often is.

no, it doesn't matter whether you take the polaroid or negative to the alt path, because they get consumed anyways (unless you acquire the faded polaroid trinket which gets consumed by the door instead).

Mother doesn't take either. The beast path does.

New mother path doesn't consume it. It's the other ending path that requires one of them

There is an exception there if you take both polaroid + negative with J&E, but yeah, most characters lose the Polaroid and Negative for fighting the Beast, not Mother.

whoops, yeah it's the beast path. looks like i picked up Bozo today
