The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Online coop? Why not?
Why cant they add online coop to the game? These coop babies im collecting are useless if i cant play with anyone.

B: you can use steams remote play system to have other people join for "local" co-op online.

They said the same about Don't Starve and there you see them, updating their version "Together" every month.

And like the last comment, in the game files there is an unfinished experimental version but functional online co-op mode.

Sure do love having over a second of input delay over remote play.

There is an experimental online mode buried in the games files you can activate, there are some steam guides covering how to use it. It's a bit unstable, but it works pretty well.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Yeah plenty games have online coop these days so it shouldnt be that hard for them to add networking. They spent about 4 years making this dlc, adding internet connectivity wouldnt take that long lol.

I'll have a look at these guides a couple of you have sent, those look fun, cheers.

EDIT: so from watching that guide, it seems like online coop is coming? They're just still working on it.

yeah, you mean the different game that they built on the side, that doesn't work the same as the original, and that's a lag input mess most of the time, even hosting your own games

yeah one of the devs hopes to get it working sometime in the future, but networking online multiplayer for a game built around singleplayer and lan play is a ton of work and takes a lot of time to get it right

Isaac isn't even built for LAN play by the way. For this game, the "local" part of "local coop" means "on the same machine", not "the same network".

Steam Remote Play emulates being on the same machine. Still no LAN involved. :dip:
