Hardest character to play as?

First of all, I don't have any Tainted character unlocked except Judas. From my personal experience I think Blue Baby or ??? is hardest character to play as, mostly because of drops he/I had. It wasn't just 1 game, it was more than 20 when I actually got somewhere. Even The Lost is easier for me to play as. So I want to know your experience with characters. Who do you think is hardest character to play as?

Well, from what I've played it's definitely Jacob and Esau. They are Azazel compared to pre-Repentance The Keeper, however. I also find Bethany quite hard to play as due to a lack of soul hearts, though with certain items she can really get going. I've only really played as Tainted Isaac and I can't tell if he's really easy or really hard as the 8 item restriction is... well, restrictive.
In terms of footage I've seen, Tainted Jacob seems very painful. Tainted Eden also looks really hard due to how inconsistent he is.

Both J&E and tainted jacob for me. Tainted lost too, due essentially to the holy mantle effect nerf on him, a single brimstone can kill u even with holy card active.

from my playing experience it would have to be jacob and esau. With everyone else i can deal and adapt to their little quirks... i can't do that with jacob and esau. I literally needed to find the Lost Contact to beat mom's heart... that is not a good sign if i absolutely need to find certain items to beat bosses like that

You have to split your items between two characters but can only play as one at a time, meaning you're severely underpowered pretty much all the time.

I have all unlocks on every character but tainted Jacob and playing him for 10 minutes I can already tell hes gonna be the hardest. Tainted lost is extremely difficult but at least he is powerful and pretty fun. J and E and tainted Lazarus are definitely up there though. Absolutely garbage and extremely annoying to play with laughable and niche upsides.

Tainted jacob n esau by far. I don't see why I would ever play them for fun ngl, seems like a challenge run turned into a character. It's like if they added the hot potato challenge to act as regular tainted forgotten.

You can but then you become tainted lost without holy card, his damage multiplier, better item perk etc.
