The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

do people cheat to unlock achievements in this game?
I play on xbox usually & wondered if it was possible/common to use mods/cheats to unlock achievements on pc

It is possible to do. No idea how many people do it though, most likely a very small minority.

Note that achievements and unlocks are the same thing in this game.

possible yeah, common ? not sure
It's not an exception, but not a commonly spotted in this game.

I've seen a number yeah, the numbers are skewed that's to be expected. The answer is more that: yes, there is people who didn't cheat to do it

It is not that common... you know there are a lot of people that are just THAT fast.

Maybe I am not that good but I already beated every normal character&unlocked almost every character runes

I haven't done it, but I don't blame people that do.

Like if they want to follow their favorite letsplayer on a seed, but can't since they haven't unlocked everything. Or they 100% 1 save file and didn't want to redue it 2 more times. Or on character they just hate like jacob or tainted lost.

I was tempted once when I did like 30 daily in a row or whatever to unlock horf (I still regret unlocking that thing every day I play issac). And then an update came out that RE-LOCKED! all the booster pack items I had been using for ages. And I only needed broken modem to re-get my 100% back. But I hated doing dailies.

That said I tend to hate watching youtubers that cheat a lot.

Not common if the achievement stats here on Steam are anything to go by. Two streamers I watch cheated all the achievements because they just wanted to play the game in its complete state for entertainment value, rather than dedicate 500+ hours to unlocks, and I can completely understand that.

How can you tell the number of legit achievements by Steam's achievement stats alone?

Anyways, according to PSNProfiles, the number of players, who have "1000000%" is roughly 2500 of 100.000 players or ~2,5%. Twice as low of a percentage (relatively), than on Steam, which does seem a bit odd, given that with such high player counts, we do have statistically representative numbers. With Steam boasting a hugely larger playerbase of TBoI players, compared to PS4, and the ease of accessibility of mods and tools, such as SAM, it's not unreasonable to assume, the number cheaters to be in the thousands. Not a whole lot overall, but probably enough to shift the overall achievement stats by 1-2%.

Edit: Daily Runs are full of cheaters, btw. I miss GreedButt. :(

I can't tell directly but my assumption is that the amount of Repentance achievements still sitting around 0.1% to 0.5% means there's not very many cheaters, as the cheaters who would've already forcefully unlocked everything would've bumped that up a lot more.

Unless that number is based on all Rebirth players, and not just people who purchased Repentance. I'm assuming the latter but if it's the former then disregard my statement because the percentages would make complete sense in that case.

you often notice it easily if someone gets like 100+achievements in just 1 day. that is not possible unless he/she is extremely lucky or plays the game like the entire day and even then need you to get lucky. my best achievement wise was i think 25? in one day but that only because i had where i started with repentance again only 190ish achievements. i had barely any marks on the characters. it slowed way more down since i have 300+. and it will probably slow more and more down.

those on sidenote. getting that in 1 day is not a 100% indicator tho. if for example gets like 50achievements at the exact same time could it be that he/she played offline and just got online again and the game just SPAMMING THE HECK OUTTA YOUR FACE with achievement popups.

i think its pretty easy to poke this game on pc with that cheat engine thing? tho that wouldnt work on console. i think in general is it way harder to cheat on console then on pc xD.

The game also has a known bug that resets every single one of your achievements then gives them all back to you, making it look like you got every single achievement all at the same time.

So yeah, checking achievement times isn't a reliable indicator for TBoI.

Yes. You cant even call this a cheat, just saving time. This game is very poorly designed. Every item unlock is behind gate of your time. You cant play game for fun while having full experience.
Also at this point game is out of any balance. Basically random nonsense. You will finish game if you are lucky in this run. Simple as that. So spawn whatever items you want and dont feel bad. Whatever. Dont waste your life. :)

You should get achievements to satisfy yourself, not to boast to others. They're personal achievements in that sense. Caring too much about what people have what achievements is just a waste of time.

this post should get removed here and shoved into the rant thread o-o
you are probably one of those peoples which want games which you finish in like 1~2 days...

man, i loved the days where games took atleast 60hours+ for atleast finishing them and took even more hours to fully complete them. nowadays pay you 60€ for a triple A game and you finished it within 10 hours ... and not only that, they come with DLC stuff which should´ve been in the base game anyways just to take more of your money. ......... but thats a different topic ... >_>
