bethany synergy like no other.... (perfect for speed runs!)

first run with bethany, picked up guppys head in the first cursed room..... uhh.... wow that synergy.

This one item will see you treating the game like easy mode, on hard mode. I managed to defeat mega satan without breaking a sweat thanks to this. I completed every room in the womb and in the cathedral. Also bonus of unlocking guppy later on, but honestly not needed for this combo.

If you like to speed run this game, this is the pair you want.

What does it do that makes it so good?

Book of virtues summons a protector wisp when you activate it, which also shoots bullets for you. For some insain reason guppys head, instead of making flies when comboes with the book of virtues, creates protector wisps. And unlike the book of virtues, it has a 1 room cool down, and summons 3 of them. These things are like having a permenent shield up, which also shoots for you. Bethany's absorbing soul hearts ability works really well in this too, like in a bullet hell boss like mega satan when you can just summon more protector wisps to soak satans bullets. This combo is crazy. Of course you can just use book of virtues with guppy for equal goodness, but the soul hearts recharge on top just makes it crazy good. And makes for a really fun speedy play through.

Mom's bracelet is pretty good too. You can spawn infinite flies as long as there are items to throw around.

i got a similar run. i had bethany + eraser. The eraser doesn't disapear after use so i used it on all the womb + corpse rooms. All the rooms were empty.

I picked up some nuclear fog item on the run too, and nearly every enemy up to the womb insta died xD it was such a ridiculous run. But it was the first time i'd defeated mega satan so it was like: WOAH

Bethany is OP. Many active items just destroy a game with her, i had much fun with this character. My favourite synergy with her so far is Book of Monsters or Shwoop da Loop.

nothing is better than eraser and unicorn stump on bethany. you can clear the whole game up to blue baby with unicorn stump's normal charge alone. and brute force mega satan / delirium with the amount of soul charge you accumulated
