You think?
They fix Echo chamber.
I playing in Dead Cells and it's not so difficult as you saying about roguelike
the combo is no longer simply given to you on a silver plate every run
Original Rogue was about the randomness rather than difficulty. You could have a hard, basically impossible run or you could have an OP run with zero effort needed.
Vast majority of roguelike/roguelite games understand this and allow for both.
This idea that roguelike/lite games have to be challenging came from literally nowhere and is just projecting on part of "muh hardcore" crowd.
And I say that is ok. People who want to challenge themselves do not have to use it. People who want to use it can use it.
Do not see a problem with it, personally. Why deny one if you can have both?

When everyone's beloved mod access is available again then the noobs can butcher the game as much as they want. Until then the only choice you have is to play the game as it was intended. Tough life.
Um... Isaac still understands this and allows for both. You can most definitely STILL have either a very difficult run or an OP zero-effort run with Isaac based on the randomness of the items you find. The Alabaster Box nerf didn't change this. In fact, it -helped- it.
Being able to craft your own items is a neat gimmick, but if you know how to set up something that allows you to effortlessly generate every crafting material in the game, then you've altogether removed the randomness AND the difficulty, and lost the spirit of Rogue and roguelikes.
That's what Alabaster Box + Tainted Cain could do. That's why it deserved to be nerfed, and that's why the game is better for it, even though a hilarious break is now gone.
You mean the way the dev has decided out of nowhere, alienating a good amount of the community in the process, for no good reason.
I mean, a good choice there would be to communicate this before loading the shotgun and putting it to the head of about 30% of the community, just saying. They did pay for the game as well, they played it, their voice should matter.
You dame right
