20/20 + The Inner Eye/Mutant Spider SUCKS now

Okay so
20/20 got nerfed quite a bit, right? The damage decrease makes it so it can't just "double damage". That bit's fine enough, it's still a DPS upgrade, though I do feel it's a bit much.
The nerfs to the multi-shot synergies are fine in concept as well. 20/20 just adds two whole tears to triple/quadruple shot and let's you rock a quintuple/hextuple shot with no further penalties, so removing ONE tear out of two doesn't SOUND too bad...
ONE PROBLEM
NOT ONLY DID THEY REMOVE ONE TEAR FROM THE SYNERGY, 20/20 GIVES INNER EYE AND MUTANT SPIDER THE DAMAGE PENALTY
So your TRIPLE SHOT gets QUADRUPLE GUTTED
So you have to hit MORE shots in order to get a damage output that MIGHT MATCH triple shot WITHOUT 20/20!
I'm not sure the exact math, and how greatly it affects DPS, but when I got 20/20 and the Inner Eye I SWEAR my DPS dropped like a brick.
(I didn't have particularly good stats either)
Like, there's nerfing an item that's kinda just OP, and then there's GUTTING an OP item to be a DETRIMENT.
I'm also pretty sure 20/20 and mutant spider is a straight DPS >downgrade<.
Like, four shots, right? Let's assume they deal 100 damage each, total of 400.
20/20 adds one tear, and applies -25% damage to every tear. No change to tear rate, so no need to worry about that.
So NOW they deal 75 damage each, 75*5 = 375.
25 damage less. IF you hit every tear.
So QUADRUPLE SHOT gets QUINTUPLE GUTTED
