An Issue with Glitched Crown

I was playing as tainted Jacob and got glitched crown in the super secret room on burning basement I. And it didn't seem to work on item room or curse room item upon first encounter. I had to reenter the room for it to work.
The weirder thing is, a lot of the items became breakfast on the second floor.
I don't know if it is a common bug with the glitched crown or something. It's the first time I've ever seen.
I tested the same seed on other characters and the same thing happened.
Has anybody encountered the same thing?
