The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

What is the best character to beat Isaac with?
Beat it 3 or so times with Bethany, Isaac, and Blue Baby. I've been using Bethany but I've been unlucky and got trash stuff. The characters I own are Isaac, Maggy, Cain, Eve, Samson, Blue Baby, Eden, Bethany, Lazarus and Azazel which I find to be really boring.

Bethany is probably the easiest character in the game so yeah, keep going with that until you unlock the next area :)

Thanks! Bethany can be really powerful with SHOOP DA WOOP with like 8 brimstones

Eden's Isaac unlock is the Blank Card. While Repentance neutered the old game breaks, there are still some pretty powerful things it can do.

Maggy's Isaac unlock is The Relic, which will give regular Soul Heart drops. I hopefully don't have to explain why that's good.

At this point, you'll unlock The Polaroid. In addition to doing all the characters except maybe Eden again, you'll want to go through with Samson for the Blood Penny.

Cain is the easiest in repentance pre-d6 isaac. No bad pills, good luck for more consume-able drops, better gambling.

Already got D6 Isaac

A lot of maggy's power comes from already having unlocks. Since the full health pill at the start is an unlock. As are many good angel items like godhead.

You could still pull off a floor one sacrifice room that gives sacred heart though.

Samson is always a strong character and a good hedge against runs with no damage ups. But he gets boring since most every run with him feels the same. Get IV bag, keep a lot of red hp, win.

Judas is easily carried by his Book of Belial and is one of my favorite pre-D6 characters, you could probably clear half the chapters without a single tears / damage up. Truly strong characters don't need to rely on RNG, e.g. Tainted Lilith.

Further reminder: Judas is unlocked by going down instead of up after It Lives. Doing that as Bethany is also necessary to unlock one of the Repentance challenges.
