[SPOILERS] Pill/Card slot active item issue

Sorry if this has been discussed already. When I first read about the tainted characters with permanent active items on the pill/card slot, I thought it sounded a little wonky, but once I unlocked a few of them and got some runs in it's not bad, EXCEPT for that fact that when you pick up a new card/pill you immediately switch to it from your active item. For some characters this isn't a big deal, but for others whose alternate actives are used often in the midst of battle (like tainted Judas) it just seems absurdly inconvenient to me. Am I crazy?

Not really. All you have to do is tap the button to switch the item with the card.

I understand that, but let me put it this way: if your'e in the middle of clearing a room and you deliberately have your active item selected over a card/pill, in how many instances would you want a pill or card you happen to walk over prioritized over your active item?

well plenty if I'm chased by tainted Esau and not enough room

It's the exact same behavior when you have 2 cards slot. You immediately switch to the new one when picked. Nothing strange here

You're right, it's not strange. I would just like to have the option to choose the item as priority even when picking up a pill/card or whatever.
