That's only for Rebirth with no expansion. On Afterbirth (and beyond), the 4-deaths method is useless.

All you have to do is find a Missing Poster trinket and kill yourself in a sacrifice room. Nothing special needed, just a bit of RNG to unlock the Lost.

Have you literally completed all challenges with all other characters? There is no need to treat this like something you have to do immediately. Just play the game normally and you will get your opportunity. If you are having trouble, unlock Divorce Papers, which drops a trinket that copies the Missing Poster. I think it counts for the lost too.

Hey so i used the tainted cain mtethod here it is from the wiki fandom "It is technically possible to unlock The Lost while holding Mysterious Paper, although the probability is small since it only has a 1/4 chance to imitate the Missing Poster.
Divorce Papers always drop Mysterious Paper and have a cheap craft for Tainted Cain and Bag of Crafting, a new possible method has been found where you spam runs getting the Divorce Papers early and dying in the first Sacrifice Room you can find. Even with the small chance of getting the unlock with Mysterious Paper, the high number of runs in a short period of time can be worth it." It took me 14 tries, mind you i dident find sacrifice rooms and ill of those so i restarted some. But it gets it done. You need to unlock mysterious paper and divorce papers before tho, and also tainted cain. You can chekc the recepie for divorce papers in platinum god, the most common is 2 bombs and 6 normal coins.
